Every project follows a structured workflow so you always know where your manuscript stands, from concept to final files.
STEP 1
Consultation
We begin with an in-depth call to understand your vision, market goals, and unique author voice. Once we get acquainted and all parties agree on a direction, we'll move forward. If our process isn't right for you, don't worry, the consultation is free.
STEP 2
Interviews
We meet for a series of interviews, both written and online, each with the aim to create detailed blueprints or outlines. This process will be collaborative and adaptive to the needs of the project.
STEP 3
Drafting and Cover Design
Your ghostwriter produces the manuscripts in accordance with the outline. Your cover designer will also begin drafting your book covers complete with art, a catchy blurb, and space for a barcode.
STEP 4
Revisions and Final Edits
Once the draft is complete, we polish the manuscripts for flow, grammar, and genre-specific market standards. This will also be your opportunity for revisions of both the manuscript and the cover art. More about revisions will be discussed during your consultation.
STEP 5
Final Delivery
You receive publication-ready manuscripts and cover designs. We'll also provide a packet of proven publishing advice and other tips and tricks to help your launch succeed.

We're Hannah and Daniel, founders of Backlist Builders. Our story is rooted in firsthand experience. We found, as we built our own writing business, that the best way to sell more books is to write more books. However, our backlists of both fiction and nonfiction work took years to grow on our own. That's why we formed this agency, to give new and established authors an accelerated path toward an established portfolio. By hiring our team, what could take up to a decade can happen in as few as six months.
We focus on quick-turnaround ghostwriting that preserves your unique voice while meeting professional market standards. We will work directly with you to turn your ideas into polished, publishable material from manuscript to cover.
